Deciding to start a work at home business is exciting but starting to make it come to life involves some preparation. I will share some things to consider in the early stages of planning your business. Do not get discouraged or overwhelmed from all the information or promises out there. Use the excitement and need for change to help you end the rest of 2016 with a plan to go after your goal. There are some basic things to know and think about once you make the choice. Remember that it is to help you not waste time and have a realistic point of view for getting started sooner.
Looking back on how I started my own business, I wish I knew about having the option to have a physical or online business as well as a service or product business. I am using the knowledge I have gained to create one that truly meets my needs now. Be honest about your skills. Write down on a piece of paper everything you know how to do. Assess what skills can be used now to start creating an income. Taking action is important as well as figuring out how much time can be devoted to this new business. Are there gaps of time in your family and work life that can be used to help make your work at home goal come true? Write down steps to take that are practical and easy to get done.
If you make it complicated, it will delay taking action. Make sure you put it in writing to have a deadline. Having it written down and put on the wall or in your phone makes it feel more real. The last thing we want to do is miss a deadline at work or with our children as the consequences can be huge. Our own mind can be an enemy when we are looking for change.
- Searching for groups on Facebook in your niche to join as well as ones locally can be helpful
- Be specific typing in words like work at home moms, mom business owners, momtrepreneur, etc. to get better results.
- Persistence is essential and once you are in a group, ask others for advise or tips.
- Remember that moms love to help other moms.
I have gained so much knowledge and leads from other moms in the Facebook groups I am currently in now. That is why I created my Facebook group called Movin Moms http://bit.ly/movinmomsgroup to offer support on the journey to becoming a work at home mom and pushing toward your goals.
