I miss my kids and want to be there for them. I wish I had flexibility in my schedule. Could I work from home? These are definitely thoughts a mom has about whether she can create a business while having the family life she wants. This is why I chose “Movin Moms” as the name of this blog, to reflect that moms can move toward working at home by starting their own business. Often as moms, we deal with the demands of work and family trying to juggle the ups and downs we feel emotionally and professionally. It can take a toll on us and stop us from gaining ground to make our goals a reality. The need to change direction by finally choosing to work from home and be with the kids seems very appealing. However, figuring out how to make it a reality can seem like a puzzle too. I work to offer the right tools, resources, knowledge, and support to help moms who want to work from home, or are already working from home to have the foundation to be successful on this journey.
There is so much information on the Internet to educate and overwhelm moms. I want to make it simple for moms with easy steps so that it does not get complicated and the transition is not as difficult. When I started out with a pet sitting business from home, I thought it would hep me when I decided to have children. However, it kept me away from them, especially during the holidays and weekends. Going from a 9-5 to my own business made me miserable and over the years it was slowly taking a toll on my hope to enjoy my kids and stop trading all my time for money in my business. I worked on my schedule but it was long days, seven days a week.
Now that I have decided to start a business online with this blog, I can guide moms to stay clear of making choices out of frustration, fear, or the promise of quick income. I hope to inspire moms to hang on through the bumpy ride of being a work at home mom and to use it as a way to create different income, friendships with other work at home moms, and fill their world with the laughter and smiles of their children. I have created this support through a Facebook group with the same of this blog, “Movin Moms.” Please join us for a community of moms who can post a question, get answers, or share a victory. We all have the chance to be work at home moms so let’s get started now. I hope to see you there.
