Deciding to become a work at home mom is easy but sometimes the journey to make it happen (doing the work) can be discouraging and frustrating. The excitement of choosing a niche, business model, or buying a domain gets us excited but committing the time, resources, and energy after a couple months can start to make us question or forget our why. Moreover, if you are not seeing new followers on social media, income, or feedback that tells you that you do matter, you can withdraw and have the wrong mindset. Like having a child, their is a pre-pregnancy, pregnancy, and post-pregnancy, and they all require things from us but to a different degree. This is how starting or having a business can be for a mom. I want to give you three tips to help push you and give you the support you need if there comes a moment, hour, or day you feel like giving up.
- Write down what you have achieved (big or small) and set some realistic goals– If you want to make $10,000 in a month and you do not achieve it, that is not a failure. It does take time and you have to acknowledge what you have done big or small. The need to see results fast may cause unnecessary stress.
- Post in a Facebook Group– Choose a group that is in your niche and you feel comfortable posting to. It takes less time and you can get the feedback about a question or problem you are having, as others will more than likely have experienced it. I have seen how supportive others in Facebook groups are to offer help or tips.
- Find a coach or accountability partner-I spent so much time trying to figure out my pet business and starting a new business online alone that I caused myself undue stress and wasted time.
